Meet Buddy: The AI Assistant Built Into BreederBuddy

Every breeder has the same morning ritual. Coffee, then the mental checklist: anyone need meds today? Did those applications get answered? Who's coming into season next? The answers are all in your records. Getting them out is the work.

That's the job Buddy does. Buddy is the AI assistant built into BreederBuddy, and it answers questions about your program the way a sharp kennel assistant would: by actually going and checking.

What you can ask

Type a question the way you'd say it out loud:

• "What do I need to do today?"
• "Who's due to come in season next?"
• "Has anyone applied for the spring litter?"
• "Which invoices are overdue?"
• "Has she dropped yet?"

Buddy checks your calendar, care reminders, applications, and payments, then gives you a straight answer. Ask about your morning and it might tell you your calendar is clear but two invoices are well past due, with both buyers named and linked. One question, whole day sorted.

You can @ mention any dog to ask about her directly. Her last heat, her progesterone numbers, her weight trend. If it's on her record, Buddy can tell you.

Answers you can check

The thing breeders worry about with AI is simple: is it making this up?

Buddy shows its work. Above every answer you'll see exactly what it checked ("Checking pending applications," "Finding overdue payments") and what it found. Every dog, buyer, or invoice it mentions is a link to the real page, so verifying takes one click. And when something isn't in your records, Buddy says so instead of guessing.

Your data stays yours, too. Buddy reads your records only to answer your questions, and your data is not used to train AI models.

Smart Filing: the end of the downloads folder

The other half of Buddy is Smart Filing. Every breeder has the folder: OFA results, Embark reports, vet visit summaries, signed contracts, all waiting for a filing day that never comes.

Now you just drop the file in. Buddy reads it, figures out which dog, litter, or contact it belongs to, and proposes where to file it. You approve, and it's done. The next time a buyer asks for hip results, they're on the dog's profile where they belong, not somewhere in your email.

Nothing gets saved without your approval. Buddy proposes, you decide.
