How do digital contracts work in BreederBuddy?
You create a contract template once with dynamic variables (buyer name, dog name, price, pickup date, etc.). When you send a contract to a buyer, BreederBuddy automatically fills in all the variables from their buyer record. The buyer receives a link to their portal where they can review and sign electronically. A signed PDF is generated and stored in their record permanently.
Can buyers pay online through BreederBuddy?
Yes. BreederBuddy integrates with Stripe so buyers can pay deposits and final balances online by credit card or ACH bank transfer. You can also record offline payments (Venmo, Zelle, cash, check) and all payment data is tracked automatically on the invoice.
Are electronic signatures legally binding?
Yes. Electronic signatures collected through BreederBuddy's buyer portal are legally valid under the ESIGN Act and UETA. Each signature is tied to the buyer's email-verified account, and the signed PDF is stored permanently in their record.
Do I have to retype the buyer's information into every contract?
No. BreederBuddy's dynamic variables automatically pull buyer name, dog name, purchase price, deposit amount, pickup date, and any other fields you configure from the buyer's existing record. You never have to retype the same information twice.
Can I do payment plans?
Yes. BreederBuddy supports payment plans with installment scheduling. You can track multiple partial payments per buyer, and outstanding balances are always calculated and displayed on the invoice automatically.
Does BreederBuddy take a cut of my payments?
BreederBuddy doesn't add any fees on top of standard Stripe processing rates. You pay Stripe's standard processing fee (typically 2.9% + 30¢ per card transaction), and that's it.
