Your Dashboard

Video walkthrough: Watch on Loom (link coming soon)

The Dashboard is the first thing you see when you log in. It gives you a quick read on your dogs, litters, buyers, and money, with Buddy (your AI assistant) right at the top. You choose which sections show, so it only has what you actually use.

What You Can Do Here

  • See quick snapshots of your dogs, litters, applications, payments, and waitlists
  • Ask Buddy a question or drop a file on it, right from the top of the page
  • Choose which dashboard sections show and hide the rest
  • Keep a daily log of care notes and observations in the Day Book
  • See what’s due today, what’s overdue, and what’s coming up in the Daily Check-In
  • Pin the dogs, litters, contacts, and pages you use most to the top of the left menu

How It Works

Getting to the Dashboard

  1. Click Dashboard at the very top of the left menu.
  2. The page opens with the title Dashboard in the top left. Buddy sits at the top, with your sections below it.

What’s on the Dashboard

Each section is a card with a short summary and a button that takes you to the full page. For cat programs, the labels say Cats and Kittens and Open Cats instead. New accounts start with three sections turned on: Dogs and Puppies, Litters, and Applications. You can turn on the others anytime (see below).

Choosing Which Sections Show

  1. On the Dashboard, click the sliders icon in the top right corner, next to the page title. The tooltip says Manage dashboard sections.
  2. The Manage Dashboard window opens with a checkbox for each section, plus one for Buddy (AI assistant).
  3. Check the sections you want to see. Uncheck the ones you don’t.
  4. Turn Show onboarding checklist on or off to show or hide the New here? Quick setup checklist card.
  5. Click Save changes. You’ll see a “Dashboard updated.” message, and your dashboard changes right away.
The order of sections is fixed. Your section choices apply to your whole account, so teammates who log in see the same sections.

The Quick Setup Checklist

New accounts see a New here? Quick setup checklist card. It walks you through three phases: Phase 1: Program setup, Phase 2: Buyer pipeline, and Phase 3: Financials and business. Each step has a button that takes you to the right page, and finished steps are marked Done. When you don’t need it anymore, click Dismiss on the card. You can bring it back from Manage Dashboard.

Using the Day Book

The Day Book is your daily breeder log: things like “Dam off her food, puppies gaining well.” Turn it on from Manage Dashboard first. It shows across the bottom of the dashboard.
  1. In the Day Book section, click Add note.
  2. Type your note in the Note box.
  3. Check the Observed On date. Change it if the note is for a different day.
  4. Under Associate With, pick General note, Dog, or Litter. If you pick Dog or Litter, choose which one.
  5. Under Calendar, pick one of these:
    • No calendar link: just saves the note.
    • Link existing event: attaches the note to an event already on your calendar.
    • Create reminder: adds a new reminder to your calendar. Give it a Reminder Title, a Reminder Type, and a Reminder Date & Time.
  6. Click Save note. Your note appears in the list under its date.
To look back, use the 1D, 1W, and 1M buttons to choose how many days to show, and the Date box to jump to a different day. Use the pencil and trash icons on a note to edit or delete it.

Daily Check-In

The Daily Check-In is your at-a-glance plan for the day. It opens on its own the first time you log in each day, once you’ve finished setting up your account. To open it yourself, click the calendar-check icon in the top bar of the app (the tooltip says Daily Check-In). This icon shows on larger screens only. Here’s what you’ll see:
  • Three counts across the top: Due Today, Overdue (Not Completed) from the last 7 days, and Upcoming for the next 2 weeks.
  • Lists of today’s events, overdue events, and upcoming events. Each list shows up to 8 events.
  • A Done button on each event, so you can mark it complete right there. You can add an optional completion note.
  • Ask Buddy what to focus on today at the top. Click it and Buddy gives you a prioritized briefing across your dogs, litters, waitlist, and finances.
Click Go to full calendar to open the Calendar, or Let’s Get To It to close the window.

Pinning Items to the Left Menu

Pins put the things you open most often at the top of your left menu, in a Pinned section right under Dashboard.

Pin a Menu Page

  1. In the left menu, move your mouse over the page you want, such as Waitlists.
  2. A small pin icon appears on the right side of that item. Click it.
  3. The page now shows in the Pinned section at the top of the menu.

Pin a Dog, Litter, Contact, or Other Record

You can pin a single dog, litter, contact, contract, application, waitlist, care schedule, or invoice.
  1. Open the record. For example, open one dog’s profile.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the profile picture and choose Pin. On an invoice, click the pin icon in the top right, next to Back to Invoices.
  3. The record now shows in your Pinned section. Pinned dogs show their profile photo.

Unpin or Reorder

  • To unpin: hover over the item in the Pinned section and click the X on the right. You can also choose Unpin from the record’s three-dot menu.
  • To reorder: hover over the Pinned heading and click the grip icon (six dots) next to it. Then drag each pinned item by its grip handle to a new spot. Click the grip icon next to Pinned again when you’re done.
Your pins are saved to your login, so they follow you to any computer you sign in on.

Tips & Common Questions

Click the sliders icon in the top right of the Dashboard, check the section in Manage Dashboard, and click Save changes. If every section is turned off, the dashboard shows a Manage dashboard button you can click instead.
Yes. Open Manage Dashboard, uncheck Buddy (AI assistant), and click Save changes. You can still open Buddy anytime from the Ask Buddy… box at the top of the app, or with Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac).
Not right now. You can choose which sections show, but their order is fixed. Pinned menu items can be dragged into any order.
It only opens on its own once a day, the first time you log in that day. Click Let’s Get To It to close it, and it won’t come back until tomorrow.
No. The Dashboard is always at the top of the left menu, so it doesn’t need a pin.
