Get a Breeder Website

Video walkthrough: Watch on Loom (link coming soon)

Your BreederBuddy account can power a full professional website for your kennel — built from your live records and automatically in sync with everything in your program. When you add a dog, plan a litter, or mark a puppy available, your website reflects it. No logging into a separate system, no copy-pasting, no keeping two things up to date. Already running a site with us? The Website Overview page (left menu → Website → Overview) shows your site’s status, what’s public, and quick doors to everything website in one place.

What You Can Do Here

  • Build your own website by picking a template and filling in each section of My Website
  • Publish it with hosting, backups, and security handled for you
  • Keep dogs, litters, and available puppies on the site current automatically
  • Collect buyer applications that land straight in your BreederBuddy inbox
  • Connect your own domain (yourkennel.com) on the Pro plan
  • Edit your live site anytime from My Website
  • Bring over the words and photos from a website you already have
  • Go further with custom branding or a fully custom Signature build

Your Options

There are three ways to get a website with BreederBuddy:

How It Works

Finding the Website Pages

Look in the left menu under Your Online Presence, inside the Website menu. What you see depends on where you are:

Building a Template Website

  1. In the left menu, under Your Online Presence, open Website and click Get a website.
  2. Scroll through the example sites if you like, then click Build my website.
  3. Pick a template on the Your Style screen and click Continue. You can switch templates later without losing anything.
  4. You land on My Website with a Draft badge. The menu on the left lists every part of your site: Brand, Home, About, Dogs, Litters, Pricing, FAQs, Contact, Info Pages, Posts, and What’s public, where you switch on the dogs and litters you want shown. Fill them in in any order; everything saves as you type, and a Next button at the bottom of each one takes you to the next. A green check beside a section means it’s done; a small dot means something there is still empty.
  5. The Overview tab has a Set up your site checklist (click any item to jump to it) and a preview of your site as it stands. When it looks right, click Publish my site, there or at the top of the page. If you see Upgrade to publish instead, your plan doesn’t include publishing yet. Your site is saved, and you can choose Pro in Settings → Subscription.
  6. Your site is live right away at an address like yourkennel.breederbuddy.com, and the Website menu now shows My Website. Nothing has to be finished before you publish; you can fill in the rest after.
Building and previewing is free on any plan, and your trial includes publishing; to stay live after the trial you’ll need the Pro plan.

Managing Your Live Site (My Website)

Once your site is live, click My Website under the Website menu. It is the same page you built the site on, now with a Live badge, how complete your site is, and these buttons along the top:
  • Edit your website: opens Buddy and your real website side by side. Ask Buddy for a change, or click any part of your site to edit it yourself. See Edit Your Website.
  • Copy URL: copies your site’s address to share.
  • View Site: opens your live site in a new tab.
Below that are the tabs: Overview (your web address, custom domain, and site completeness), Brand (kennel name, logo, template, colors), Sections (Home, About, Dogs, Litters, Pricing, FAQs, Contact, Info Pages, and Posts), What’s public (which dogs and litters show), and Settings. Edit as often as you like, and switch templates anytime without losing your words, photos, dogs, or litters.

Adding a New Page to Your Website

Extra pages (your training program, health testing, guardian homes, and so on) are called Info Pages. They sit under an Info menu in your site’s navigation, until you ask Buddy on Edit your website to put them somewhere else. Info Pages are a Pro feature, and your trial includes them.
  1. Click My Website in the left menu.
  2. Click the Sections tab, then Info Pages.
  3. Click Add page.
  4. Type the page name (for example, “Training Program”) and click Add.
  5. Click Edit next to your new page, then type the page title and text.
  6. Click Save. The page appears under the Info menu on your site.
To remove a page, click the trash icon next to it.

Writing Blog Posts

Posts are articles for your website’s blog: puppy care tips, litter updates, answers to questions buyers ask. They work on template sites and custom-built (Signature) sites. Posts are a Pro feature, and your trial includes them.
  1. Click My Website in the left menu.
  2. Click the Sections tab, then Posts.
  3. Click New post.
  4. Type a Title and write the post in Body. The Address fills in from the title. Add a Cover photo if you like.
  5. Under Publishing, click Published, then click Save.
Where posts show up: your site’s Blog page, at your web address followed by /blog (for example, yourkennel.breederbuddy.com/blog). It lists your published posts, newest first, and each post has its own page at /blog/ followed by the post’s address. A Blog link appears in your site’s menu once your first post is published. Until then your site has no blog page and no Blog link, so nothing looks empty.
  • Draft posts never show on your site.
  • A post with a Publish date in the future goes up on that date.
  • Once a post is live, the View blog button at the top of Posts opens your blog.
Rather not write it yourself? On a template site, ask Buddy on Edit your website (“write a post about our new litter”) and attach a few photos. Buddy writes a draft in your words, and can fix typos, publish, unpublish or schedule posts too.

Turning Home Page Sections On or Off

  1. Click My Website in the left menu.
  2. Click the Sections tab, then Home.
  3. Scroll to Home page sections. Click the switch on a section to hide or show it, and drag sections to change their order. A hidden section leaves the page entirely.
The main menu on a template site starts out set by the template: About, Dogs, Litters, Application, Contact, FAQs, your Info Pages, and Blog once you have a published post. To rename, reorder or hide menu items, add your own links, or group pages under a dropdown, ask Buddy on Edit your website.

Changing Your Logo and Kennel Name on the Website

  • Logo (top of every page): on My Website, click the Brand tab and use the Logo card to upload or choose an image. A PNG with a transparent background works best. This is the same photo as your account photo in Settings.
  • Kennel name, tagline, and location: on My Website, click the Brand tab and edit Kennel name, Tagline, and Location. These only change your website.
  • Logo next to your name in the menu bar: on the Brand tab, Header layout controls how your logo and menu are arranged and whether your kennel name shows next to the logo.

Adding Photos to Your Website

  • Photos of your dogs and puppies come from each dog’s profile. Open the dog, click the Gallery tab, and add photos there. If the dog is public, its gallery shows on your site.
  • Home page photos: on My Website, click Sections → Home. Add photos under Home Page Slideshow (the top of your home page, 1 to 5 photos) or Gallery (your general photo pool used across the home page).
  • About page and happy customer photos: click Sections → About. About Photos sit under your story, and Happy customer photos under your testimonials. Drag a photo between any of the photo sections to move it.

Showing Extra Details on Dog Cards

  1. Click My Website, then Sections → Dogs.
  2. Under Dog cards, pick the details to show on each dog’s card: Color, Age, Breed, Coat, Size, Reg. Number, Price, and Tags.
  3. Under Dog profile pages, choose what appears on each dog’s own page.
There isn’t a separate status label for dogs (like “Future Hopeful” or “Retired”). To show one, create a tag with that name, add it to those dogs, and turn on Tags under Dog cards.

Connecting Your Own Domain

  1. Click My Website in the left menu and stay on the Overview tab.
  2. Find the Custom Domain card and type the domain you own (for example, yourkennel.com).
  3. Click Connect domain.
  4. Add the two DNS records it shows you at the company where you bought your domain (your registrar).
  5. When the records take effect — usually minutes, up to an hour — the card shows Connected and your site’s security certificate is set up automatically.

Already Have a Website?

Your current site stays up while you build this one. On a paid Pro plan, you can paste your current site’s address on the Get a website page under Already have a website? and click Move it over. Buddy brings your dogs, photos, story, pricing, and FAQs over for you to review — so you don’t start from zero. When you’re happy with the new site, point your domain at it.

Custom Branding

If you want the template experience but a look nobody else has, we design a theme just for your program — $800 one-time, on the Pro plan. Click Ask about a theme on the Get a website page, or reach out through the chat.

Signature Builds

A Signature build is a one-of-a-kind site designed and built by hand around your brand, your photos, and your words, $400 to $4,000 one-time depending on scope and scale. Highly customized, advanced sites get custom pricing, so reach out. It runs on the Signature plan at $80/month in place of Pro, and Signature sites also come with AI edit access, so you can change your site by talking to Buddy. On the Get a website page, click See Signature builds to see examples and get in touch.

The Website Walkthrough (Signature customers)

After you purchase a Signature build, we switch on the Website Walkthrough for your account. It appears at the top of Your Online Presence and replaces Get a website in the Website menu.
  1. Click Website Walkthrough in the left menu.
  2. Work through the chapters in the list on the left — your program, your dogs and puppies, getting a puppy, trust and proof, and design. Some are marked Optional. Your answers save automatically.
  3. When you’re done, click Review & finish (top right). You can click Run a quick check to catch anything blank or too short.
  4. Click I’m done, build my first draft. The button changes to Submitted, and we’ll email you when your first draft is ready. You can still edit your answers afterward.

Controlling What Shows

Content Manager (left menu, under Your Online Presence) gives you one-click Publish / Unpublish buttons for every dog and litter, so you decide exactly what appears on your site. See Your Website & Online Presence for how Public, Archived, and puppy status work together.

Tips & Common Questions

  • Custom branding: $800 one-time, on Pro.
  • Signature build: $400 to $4,000 one-time, on the Signature plan ($80/month, in place of Pro). Highly customized, advanced sites get custom pricing.
You can check or change your plan in Settings → Subscription.

No. The preview on the Overview tab, and the Preview button at the top, are private to you, so you can check things before anyone sees them. Visitors only see your site after you click Publish my site. Once it’s live, the address on the Overview tab of My Website (under Domain) is your real public website.
Usually a minute or two, and occasionally up to about five minutes. Refresh your website page to see the update. If it still isn’t there, check that the dog or litter is public in Content Manager.
Yes. Your site starts at an address like yourkennel.breederbuddy.com. When you’re ready, go to My Website, enter your domain in the Custom Domain card on the Overview tab, and add the two DNS records it shows you at your registrar. The domain stays yours, wherever you bought it.
Your site goes to an offline page — it isn’t deleted. When you’re back on Pro, the site comes back exactly as it was. If a payment fails, your site stays up for 21 days while you sort it out.
Yes. You can embed your application form on any website (see the Applications doc), and share links to contracts, invoices, and the buyer portal from anywhere. There’s also a WordPress plugin that shows your live BreederBuddy dogs and litters on an existing WordPress site.
